Google Ventures is now online! A new move by Google that seeks to boost promising startup business by investing in them. Seems like Google is showing again that they are “Not Evil”. Google Ventures is something I’d really want to get involved. problem is I still don’t have a business they can invest in.

The Thinkpad series (both Lenovo and IBM) has been well known for the its Trackpoint pointing device. On its low end to mid range system, this is the the only way to navigate / control the mouse cursor unless you use an external pointing device such as a mouse.
Ubuntu Linux have a come along since it Warty Warthog days. The desktop is now really really refined and its packages despite some being bleeding edge, are very very stable. While Ubuntu 6.06 or fondly called as Dapper Drake is known to have Long Term Support (hence the LTS in its name), I still prefer using the latest build, in this case, is Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft.
Now, while most of the functionalities of my laptop, worked out of the box, I found out that my wireless PCMCIA card, a Linksys WPC54G version 3.0 card, did not work out of the box. So i triffled through the Ubuntu Community Support Forums and I found this entry — How to: Broadcom Wireless card.
I started using Linux (Redhat 8 ) around 2003, and I was completely impressed that a fully functional desktop operating system can be experience without purchasing or pirating Windows. I began my journey through the Linux experience changing from different distributions like Mandrake (now Mandriva) and Ubuntu Linux and working with their respective communities led to believe that Open Source and the ideals behind it can contribute enormously to reducing piracy.
