Different Businesses, Different Mentors
As many would have realized, today’s business world is an arena of stiff competition. Everywhere everyone strives to be excellent, everyone strives to successful. Here in the Philippines, the economy is pushing individuals to push for greener pastures in the form of businesses. Many Filipinos dream of having their own businesses. To be financially free and never half to report to your boss.
This is all good except for a problem. A lot of Filipinos do not have what it takes, be it financially or the skill level to put up their own businesses. Many would venture off with their hard earned savings in businesses they may think that they know but lack entrepreneurial skills to maintain and groom. So many Filipino businesses and up in shambles because of this lack of experience and skill.
Some street-smart business people acknowledge this weaknesses by finding for themselves Mentors. Mentors are people who have great experience and wisdom in a certain field who share and train less experienced individuals either for free or for a fee. Today’s trend is that if a person wants to learn a business, they would find someone successful in the business and get them to mentor them in the in and outs of the business.
Mentorship as the relationship between the Mentor (the experienced one) and the Mentee (the learning one) dates back even before anyone can remember. Today businessworld calls for effective mentorship to properly mold not only business people but employees as well.
In my case, I am currently embarking on two businesses. My Business Building and Leadership Development business and my Internet business. In both businesses, I have found very experienced and competent mentors. Let’s see how far I will go.
